Types of Transitions Lenses:

 

There are several varieties of Transitions brand lenses.  Basic Transitions lenses are listedall our other prescription lens options. The specialty Transitions lenses are only listed on our  Specialty Prescription Lenses page. 

 

Standard Transitions:  Transitions lenses are clear lenses that darken in the sunlight.

  • Transitions Lens DemoQuickly transition from clear to dark, depending on the amount of sunlight
  • Reduce glare caused and block 100% of harmful UVA and UVB light
  • Ideal for people who spend most of their time indoors or travel in and out frequently
  • UV Light is needed to darken these lenses. These will not darken in a car
  • Available in Clear to Grey or Clear to Brown

Transitions Vantage:  Essentially clear lenses that offer variable amounts of polarizations due to the amount of sunlight.

  • Clear indoors. Gets more polarized as it darkens in sunlight

Transitions XTRActive:  Essentially clear lenses that become very dark in sunlight.

  • Ideal for people who spend a lot of their time outdoors
  • Go from Virtually Clear to Grey

Transitions DriveWear:  Polarized lens that changes colors, even in a car. Designed for driving.

  • Transitions Drivewear Polarized LensesActivated by brightness, not UV light, so it will change in a car.
  • Polarized lens that cut glare in overcast and sunny conditions and block 100% of harmful UVA and UVB light
  • Adapt to changing light using Transitions Photochromic Technology
  • This lens is always polarized and never clear
  • Go from Yellow to Dark Brown/Red
